Sand Dollar 843-588-9498

7 Center Street M

The Sand Dollar Social Club is a bar for members only; but basically anyone with a dollar in their pocket can become a member of this elite club. To drink in this bar you must fill out an application, pay $1 for the membership fee, and wait 24 hours to come back and pick up your membership card. Why you might is this a private club; and why is so easy that anyone can join for a dollar you might ask. Well, lets dive a little bit into the history to the Sand Dollar Social Club to find out. When the Sand Dollar opened it doors about 36 years ago there were laws here that prohibited sales of alcohol in public places after midnight during the week and no sales at all on Sundays. So Richard Weatherford decided to make it a private club where he could skirt the laws. After the laws were rewritten he decided to keep the bar as a private club; which really adds to the character of the place.

So if you ever find yourself in Folly for more than 1 day, you should drop into the Sand Dollar and buy yourself a membership. You’ll be a proud member of an exclusive club.

Taco Boy – 843-588-9761

15 Center St M,K,n/s
My name is Taco Boy. There is much to tell about me, but my lawyer says it’s best to keep quiet about my past. I can tell you that I didn’t have enough cash to fulfill my fantasy of buying a sbarro franchise, so I scraped up enough dough to open an authentic Taqueria/Cantina on Folly Beach. I called it Taco Boy and serve really, really, really tasty tacos and nachos. Fun Margaritas and special Tequila flights, too. My motto is “Skip Siesta, Let’s Fiesta.” People like that. Now I have two Taco Boy’s. Come visit one.
